I have ten years experience of working within a local authority structure and deliver corporate objectives, strategies and producing business plans for long term projects. I was instrumental in the transition of the Irwell Sculpture Trail from a public sector partnership to a private sector Limited Company and Charity.
A 3 year role to identify and develop opportunities for public art in the City with Cheshire West and Chester Council. The role includes artist selection and identifying and advocating for the role of artists in regeneration and interpretation projects. To date three schemes are in development and a cross departmental steering group set up:

Cathy Newbery and Claire Tymon have recently been appointed to carry out this exciting piece of research to explore how public transport, youth arts services and providers can be better connected and provide greater access for young people to the arts in the North West.
Development of guidance, mechanisms, advocacy and delivery of public art aligned to the five ways to wellbeing. Focusing on two towns, Macclesfield and Crewe Station and their regeneration areas.
The PASF was written with the intention to give direction and consistency to the practice of commissioning high quality public art in the authority. The strategy sets out the parameters of how to achieve high quality work and follows what is nationally recognised as best practice. With a programme of change happening across CW&C there was a wealth of opportunity for public art to be identified and captured.
The strategy is being delivered in a number of ways, for instance, in Chester and Northwich a thematic approach has been appropriate when developing a cohesive programme for the town/city. Co authored with Carmel Clapson Arts Development Officer.

Public art plan as part of the sites Design Statement for a mixed use development site for hundreds of new homes and apartments, retail and new public access for Eatonfield Developments. A audit of objects was also carried out and some historic objects kept for reuse or for artists to use as raw material.

To produce a vision for the project using comparative study of artists and projects from Northern European partners local research, artistic guidelines, funding analysis, commissioning structure, site identification, budgets and timescales.
I have carried out comparative research of Landmark Art Projects in Germany (Emscher Park) & Norway (Artscape Norland) as part of completing my European Cultural Diploma in Project Manager, Marcel Hicter Foundation Council of Europe 2000.
